‘Spinelli’ was written about a crazy Halloween party in which Leeds’ was dressed as ‘Spinelli’ (character from the Disney show ‘Recess!’). The track was written over 2 years ago from exploring synth sounds, putting lyrics together then bringing it to a band to see if it was worth keeping to perform. Inspiration for writing stemmed from attempting to write a sad song based on a tragic loss and grief – which turned into focusing on better memories from this loss which felt a lot easier and less morbid to write. The upbeat/synth-driven track explores themes such as feeling isolation in social situations and how the mind can spiral out of control whilst struggling with your own inner-monologue.
